Kratom Storage Around Children and Pets
A closed bag on a high shelf can still be within reach. Think about storage before bringing the product home.
Choose a secure place
Keep products away from children and animals, with their original labels and warnings. A resealable pouch isn’t child-resistant packaging. Consider visitors, shared spaces, and pets that investigate bags—not just the usual household routine.
Don’t make the container confusing
Avoid cocoa tins, candy jars, or bottles labeled for another product. Keep capsules off tables and out of loose pockets. Any prepared mixture needs a clear label and secure storage away from ordinary food and drinks.
Treat familiar-looking packaging carefully
FDA has raised concerns about enhanced 7-OH products in forms such as gummies that may appeal to children. A snack-like shape doesn’t explain the contents. Make sure other adults know what a product is instead of assuming the packaging makes it obvious.
If an exposure happens
For a child’s suspected exposure in the United States, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 promptly. Call 911 for unresponsiveness or a medical emergency. For a pet, contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary service. Keep the package handy and don’t induce vomiting or try a home remedy unless a relevant professional directs you.
