How to Read a Kratom Product Label

QUALITY & BUYING · Reviewed October 15, 2026

The front of a bag tells a story. The smaller print should help you check it.

Start with what the product is

Is it leaf powder, capsules, an extract, or something with added alkaloids? Start there before the strain name or the bold number on the front. Similar packaging doesn’t mean two products have the same ingredients.

Look for the details you might need later

Check the ingredients, batch number, business contact information, warnings, storage directions, and any relevant allergen details. If something is missing or unclear, ask the seller to explain it. A quick photo of the full package can save you a search later.

Give the units a second look

Grams of leaf, milligrams of an alkaloid, percentages, and capsule counts measure different things. Ask what a prominent number actually describes. If a matching lab report is available, check that it uses the same units and names.

Some promises deserve a pause

A product label shouldn’t promise to cure a condition, replace your medication, or guarantee an experience. Attractive packaging and enthusiastic reviews don’t verify those claims. A useful seller should be willing to answer a specific question about the product and its batch.
